Next year, I think a badge with bigger fonts would be helpful for Pubcon. Many people would squint at the chest of another person, trying to make out the person’s name and their company. The title, to me, seemed much less important. Many people were there with their own company, it seemed like a third of the people were owner/CEO/chief bottle washer.
To redesign, I suggest using mixed case instead of all caps. A larger font size can be used with a mixed case, and mixed case is easier to read.
Re-order the elements so that it is Name, Company, Title. Make Name and Company much larger than the existing badge, and put Title at the bottom in a slightly smaller font size.
Put the barcode at the bottom right, as this allows for word wrapping if someone has a long name in any of the three fields.
This mockup was done with the size of the badge being 4″ by 3″, Arial 24 point bold for Name and Company, and Arial 22 point bold for title, and 9 points of spacing between the fields.
